ghcr.io/uvwt/agentdockWhat is AgentDock?
AgentDock is an open-source, Apache-2.0 licensed MCP runtime that lets AI assistants work directly on the computers, servers, and containers you operate. It exposes file reading and writing, code search, shell command execution, Git operations, browser control, and task management as MCP tools over Streamable HTTP (with an optional stdio mode), so clients such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Codex act in your real environment instead of a sandbox. Multiple AgentDock instances can coordinate across devices, optionally through the vendor's NexusDock workspace for a shared entrypoint and memory; pairing is not required, since direct local MCP access works out of the box. Extensions come as Skills, Plugins, and dynamically attached external MCP servers, and long-running tasks save checkpoints so work can resume after interruptions. Desktop users install a graphical package for macOS (13+) or Windows 11; servers use an automated script (systemd or OpenRC) or the official container image via Docker Compose, secured with a Bearer token or OAuth, and Cloudflare Tunnels provide temporary or fixed public addresses. The runtime itself is free; the paired NexusDock service offers a free plan and a paid Plus plan.
Should you self-host AgentDock?
AgentDock scores 53/100 on selfhost.directory (how scoring works) and ranks #81 of 209 in AI Agents. It has 1 283 GitHub stars.
It shipped 5 stable releases in the past year. The latest, v0.9.2, came out on 25 October 2026. New versions land roughly every 3 days.
Setup is easy: most people get it running in one sitting. An official Docker image is available. It is Apache-2.0-licensed and written mostly in Go.
Its closest alternative on selfhost.directory is Orca (91/100, 108 555 stars). It scores higher overall, so compare the two before you pick. See AgentDock vs Orca side by side.
