What is openclaw-coolify?
OpenClaw is a self-hosted AI agent platform that operates on your own hardware and connects to messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Slack, and Microsoft Teams. All data and infrastructure stay under your control rather than on external servers. The system uses a multi-agent design where a gateway process launches isolated Docker sandboxes for demanding tasks such as coding, research, and file handling. It provides a persistent workspace volume, SQLite-backed conversation memory, and a built-in SearXNG search engine. Capabilities can be extended by installing skills from the ClawHub registry. Security measures include a token-gated dashboard, device pairing approval, a restricted Docker socket proxy, and integration with Bitwarden and Pass for secret storage. Cloudflare Tunnel creates public URLs without port forwarding. The Coolify edition installs with a single click via docker-compose.

FAQ
What does the `minimax-portal-auth` warning mean?
This is a known warning from an optional plugin that does not affect the agent's core functionality and can be safely ignored.
How do I connect from my Mac/PC?
Use the public URL generated by Coolify (e.g., `https://openclaw.my-server.com`). Do not try to connect directly to the server IP and port 18789 unless you manually opened that port in your firewall.
Why do I get "No available server" or "502 Bad Gateway" on Coolify?
Ensure docker-compose.yaml has `expose: ["18789"]` and check logs for `OpenClaw listening on 18789`. The gateway must listen on `0.0.0.0` or `lan`, not `127.0.0.1`.
How much disk space do I need on my Coolify server?
Approximately 13 GB of free space is required for the Docker build cache during installation.
How do I install extra tools like nmap or ffmpeg?
Don't edit the Dockerfile. Use Skills instead — create a skill folder with a SKILL.md instructing the agent to install the tool, or install a pre-made skill like `clawhub install web-utils`.
