What is OpenConcho?

OpenConcho provides a desktop and web interface for self-hosted Honcho installations. Users can explore memories, peers, sessions, and conclusions, and converse with an AI that has access to the full memory context. The application supports managing several Honcho backends at once with a fleet overview, custom peer names, reusable peer-card kits, semantic search over conclusions, a dream viewer showing consolidation bursts, a dialectic playground, webhook handling, manual dream triggering, and a demo mode that hides sensitive data. The interface offers dark and light themes saved per device, optional token authentication with automatic detection, and keeps all connection information in the browser's local storage without any telemetry. It runs as a Node.js/Vite web app, a Tauri desktop program for macOS, Linux, and Windows, a Docker container using nginx on port 8080 with a built-in reverse proxy to avoid CORS, or on Kubernetes through a Helm chart. A separate Honcho instance is required as the backend.

Should you self-host OpenConcho?

OpenConcho scores 45/100 on selfhost.directory (how scoring works) and ranks #74 of 125 in AI. It has 193 GitHub stars.

It shipped 10 stable releases in the past year. The latest, v0.17.1, came out on 19 October 2026. New versions land roughly every 7 days.

Setup is moderate: expect some configuration beyond a single command. An official Docker image is available. It is MIT-licensed and written mostly in Typescript.

Its closest alternative on selfhost.directory is ComfyUI (93/100, 143 741 stars). It scores higher overall, so compare the two before you pick. See OpenConcho vs ComfyUI side by side.
