What is dotcraft?

DotCraft is an open-source AI agent runtime written in C# and .NET that you run on your own machines. One agent operates across several entry points: a desktop program for Windows, macOS, and Linux that helps you plan, write, and review code using subagents and a built-in browser; a command-line tool for executing tasks on laptops, servers, or in CI pipelines; and a native Android application for monitoring and approving work from a phone. Every entry point uses the same workspace so you can switch between them. For teams, DotCraft provides a server deployment via Docker Compose on Linux (AppServer and Oratorio), reached through SSH tunnels, plus a separate model service that shares API keys and ChatGPT logins across runtimes. Developers can embed the complete agent runtime into their own .NET applications through the DotCraft Harness NuGet package, or connect existing products using TypeScript and .NET SDKs. The system supports .NET plugins for tools and lifecycle logic, React plugins for the desktop UI, MCP servers, LSP, and chat bot connections for several messaging platforms. It works with any OpenAI-compatible or Anthropic-compatible API, plus ChatGPT subscriptions. The code is licensed under Apache-2.0 and is under active development (v0.9.x, pre-1.0).
