What is CocktailPi?

CocktailPi is a self-hosted web application that runs on a Raspberry Pi to control a DIY cocktail mixing machine. It manages multiple pumps connected via GPIO pins or GPIO expanders, allowing users to create and order custom cocktail recipes through a web browser. The software supports up to 153 DC pumps, virtual stirring, ingredient substitution, multi-user roles with permissions, recipe collections and categories, an event system for custom actions, and a touchscreen-optimized interface. Users must build their own hardware including relay boards, pumps, and optionally stepper or DC motors. The backend is written in Java (Maven) and the frontend uses Vue.js. A public demo is available at demo.cocktailpi.org.

CocktailPi is not only a piece of software. It’s a cocktail-mixing-machine, that works with a Raspberry-Pi, that controls multiple pumps, which have different ingredients assigned. CocktailPi provides a UI, that can be accessed via web browser. Admins can create other users and assign them to multiple roles with different permissions. Users can create own cocktails and if CocktailPi has all the needed ingredients, they can order them. Cocktails can be categorized and shared with other users.
