What is airtime?
Airtime is Sourcefabric's open-source application for automating and managing a broadcast radio station remotely. Station staff can add programme material, build playlists and smart blocks, and go live from a web interface, while a scheduler plays shows on the precise date and time they set. Playout runs on the Liquidsoap streaming language, giving reliable, precise audio delivery to multiple outputs, with Icecast as the default streaming server. A Google-style calendar is used to arrange and move shows and playlists, and user management supports roles. Installation is done with a bundled script (interactive, or non-interactive via sudo ./install -fiap, which also sets up Icecast 2, Apache and a PostgreSQL user), followed by a browser-based setup and a configuration checklist. The project is licensed under GNU AGPLv3; the last stable release, 2.5.2.1, dates from 2015 and the repository's final push was in 2021, so it is effectively inactive today.
