davefurrer/discordsoundboardWhat is DiscordSoundboard?
DiscordSoundboard is a Java-based Discord bot that lets users play sound clips in voice channels. Users trigger sounds by typing commands in Discord chat (e.g., ?soundname) or by clicking buttons in a web UI served on port 8080. The bot joins the voice channel of a configured Discord user when a sound is played. It supports role-based access control (admin, DJ, moderator, user) with optional Discord OAuth2 login for the web UI. Sounds are stored as MP3/WAV files in a configurable directory. The bot can also fetch audio from YouTube, Vimeo, and SoundCloud via chat commands. It runs as a standalone JAR (requires Java 25+ 64-bit) or via the davefurrer/discordsoundboard Docker image. Configuration is done through application.properties or environment variables. The project is open-source under Apache-2.0 and actively maintained.
