What is trusted-cgi?

Trusted-CGI is a lightweight self-hosted platform for running serverless functions and applications in a CGI-like mode. It targets hobby projects, experiments, webhooks, and scheduled processing on low-end hardware like Raspberry Pi or cheap VPS. The platform runs as a single daemon that accepts requests and starts scripts or applications on demand, piping request bodies via stdin and reading responses from stdout. Key capabilities include one-click lambda creation with public URLs, a rich API, security features like user switching, IP and origin restrictions, and token authentication, time limits, permanent aliases, independent actions callable via UI or API, cron-style scheduling, and message queues with retries. It can be deployed via Docker, downloaded as a pre-built binary for Linux, macOS, and Windows, or installed from a Debian/Ubuntu apt repository. The project is written in Go with a Vue/Quasar frontend and is licensed under MIT.
