What is SOLECTRUS?

SOLECTRUS is a self-hosted dashboard for monitoring solar energy systems. It tracks production, consumption, battery usage, and grid exchange while calculating costs and savings automatically. The software supports multiple inverters, solar forecasts from pvnode, Solcast, and Forecast.Solar, and integrates with SENEC batteries, Shelly meters, Home Assistant, ioBroker, evcc, and MQTT. It runs as Docker containers managed by the HELIOS companion app, which handles installation, configuration, updates, and backups through a browser interface. A Linux server with at least 1 GB RAM and 1 GB disk space is required (2 GB RAM and 5 GB recommended). Advanced features like Power-Splitter, dark mode, amortization calculations, and AI access via MCP are exclusive to sponsors (EUR 5/month).

Should you self-host SOLECTRUS?

SOLECTRUS scores 51/100 on selfhost.directory (how scoring works) and ranks #20 of 51 in Monitoring & observability. It has 166 GitHub stars.

It shipped 12 stable releases in the past year. The latest, v1.3.4, came out on 12 October 2026. New versions land roughly every 2 weeks.

Setup is moderate: expect some configuration beyond a single command. An official Docker image is available. It is AGPL-3.0-licensed and written mostly in Ruby.

Its closest alternative on selfhost.directory is GoAccess (75/100, 21 094 stars). It scores higher overall, so compare the two before you pick. See SOLECTRUS vs GoAccess side by side.
