What is proxmox-datacenter-manager?
Proxmox Datacenter Manager (PDM) is a standalone API and GUI product for organizations managing multiple Proxmox VE clusters and Backup Server instances across data centers. It provides a central control plane to monitor and manage nodes, VMs, containers, storages, and datastores from one interface. Key capabilities include a unified dashboard with customizable views, live migration of guests between independent clusters, remote shell access, firewall and SDN overviews, centralized update management, and configuration health monitoring. Authentication supports LDAP, Active Directory, OpenID Connect, and two-factor authentication. The backend is written in Rust and listens on port 8443 with TLS only, using a dual-daemon architecture where the privileged daemon is restricted to a UNIX socket. The frontend is a Rust/WebAssembly application built with Yew. PDM is distributed as an ISO installer and requires active Enterprise Support subscriptions for managed remotes to receive updates.
