ghcr.io/ghomashudson/jellyfin-auto-collectionsWhat is Jellyfin-Auto-Collections?
Jellyfin Auto Collections is a Python utility for Jellyfin users who want to automatically populate their media library with curated collections from popular online lists. It connects to a self-hosted Jellyfin instance via the API and fetches movie and show lists from sources including IMDb charts and lists, Letterboxd lists, Trakt trending and popular lists, mdblist, the TSPDT 1000 greatest films list, Steven Lu's Popular Movies, The Criterion Channel, Listmania, BFI, and Jellyfin's own API queries. It can also sync tags from Radarr and Sonarr, and integrate with Overseerr or Jellyseerr for request-based collections. The tool runs on a configurable cron schedule (default daily at midnight) or can be executed manually. It is deployed via Docker Compose using the ghcr.io/ghomashudson/jellyfin-auto-collections image, or run directly on bare metal with Python 3. Collections are created or updated in Jellyfin, with optional poster generation for collections lacking artwork. The project is MIT-licensed and actively maintained, though it has no formal versioned releases — the Docker image tracks the latest master branch.
