What is Grix?
Grix is a cross-platform chat and teamwork tool built for interacting with AI coding agents as though they were human coworkers. It gives you a single messaging screen where you can add agents as buddies, talk to them one-on-one or in groups, tag them to hand out tasks, and watch their progress live. The stack bundles a Go backend that speaks WebSockets, Flutter front-ends for seven platforms including mobile, desktop, and browser (as a PWA), an admin console, and a Python voice bridge for real-time calls. Agents execute locally on your computer through grix-connector (Node.js) or attach remotely via the WebSocket protocol. You can kick off a job on your desktop, approve a step on your watch, and pick it up later on your phone — every message, file, execution trace, and approval stays in one continuous thread. The code uses a custom source-available license that permits only non-commercial use; commercial deployment requires a separate agreement. You can deploy it through the desktop app (which handles grix-connector automatically), by installing grix-connector directly on a headless box, or with the supplied Kubernetes manifests.
