Genealogy is a free, open-source family tree application you host yourself. Built on Laravel 13 with the TallStack (Livewire, Alpine.js, Tailwind CSS), it lets you record people, their biological parents, partners, children, and siblings. Multi-tenancy comes from Laravel Jetstream Teams, so you can run separate family trees with role-based access (owner, manager, editor, member). The UI offers light/dark themes, works on mobile, and supports 11 languages plus per-user time zones. Built-in tools include a backup manager with scheduled jobs and email reports, a log viewer for queries and errors, user statistics and activity logs, and a password generator. GEDCOM import/export is available but still in development. You can upload photos with optional watermarks and a carousel, attach documents, and manage events on a timeline. The stack requires PHP 8.4+, MySQL 8.0.1+ or MariaDB 10.2.2+ (for recursive CTEs), and Node.js for the frontend. Deploy via Docker Compose, a production Docker image from ghcr.io, or a manual Composer/npm install. Licensed MIT.
