What is gaps?

Gaps connects to a Plex Media Server and The Movie Database (TMDB) to discover which movies from a collection are absent from your library. If you own Alien (1979), it will recommend Aliens (1986) and Alien³ (1992). The application is written in Java 21 using Spring Boot and provides a web UI on port 8484 for configuring TMDB and Plex credentials, selecting libraries, and viewing recommendations. Results can be exported as an RSS feed. The project is no longer actively developed but remains functional. It runs via Docker (x86 and ARM images) or as a standalone Windows executable.
