fdmmonster/fdm-monsterWhat is fdm-monster?
FDM Monster is a self-hosted platform for managing 3D printer farms. It provides a central dashboard to monitor and control multiple printers running OctoPrint, Klipper (via Moonraker), PrusaLink, or Bambu Lab. Key capabilities include real-time status with webcam feeds, drag-and-drop print queue management, batch printing to several printers at once, organizing printers on customizable floor grids, marking printers for maintenance, importing from OctoFarm, YAML configuration backup, and GCode thumbnail previews. The software uses SQLite for storage and runs on Linux, Docker, or a dedicated Raspberry Pi image called MonsterPi.
Should you self-host fdm-monster?
fdm-monster scores 51/100 on selfhost.directory (how scoring works) and ranks #12 of 22 in 3D Printing. It has 195 GitHub stars.
It shipped 10 stable releases in the past year. The latest, 2.1.1, came out on 14 May 2026. New versions land roughly every 3 days.
Setup is moderate: expect some configuration beyond a single command. An official Docker image is available. It is AGPL-3.0-licensed and written mostly in Typescript.
Its closest alternative on selfhost.directory is Octoprint (73/100, 9 167 stars). It scores higher overall, so compare the two before you pick. See fdm-monster vs Octoprint side by side.
