What is Wildbox?
Wildbox is a self-hosted, open-source security operations platform built for organizations and security teams that need complete control over their security data. The platform brings together multiple security functions: a gateway handling authentication and routing, identity management with users, teams, role-based access control and API keys, a suite of 52 security tools for DNS, TLS, email security, headers, and port scanning, threat intelligence gathering from public feeds with abuse.ch Feodo Tracker as the default source, cloud security posture management running checks against live AWS accounts (other cloud providers are not supported), vulnerability and asset management with risk-based prioritization and SLA tracking, automated incident response through YAML playbooks, endpoint telemetry collection via osquery-based sensors, and optional AI-assisted threat analysis using Anthropic Claude. Deployment uses Docker Compose with 11 core services behind an OpenResty gateway, backed by PostgreSQL 15 and Redis 7. All backend services bind to localhost only; only the gateway is exposed on port 443. The project is pre-1.0 (version 0.12.2) with interfaces that may change between minor releases. Minimum requirements are 8 GB RAM (16 GB recommended), 20 GB disk, Docker Engine 23.0+, and Linux, macOS, or Windows with WSL 2. Optional profiles add n8n workflow automation, Prometheus/Alertmanager monitoring, and scheduled backups. The project is MIT licensed and developed by Fabrizio Salmi.
