VoceChat is a superlight Rust-written social server designed for private cloud computing. The project aims to empower individuals and smaller groups to operate their own platforms on the Internet. Features include instant messaging, activity posts, video calls, notes, and whiteboard capabilities. The server is about 20MB in size and can run on devices like NAS, AWS, Raspberry Pi, or local PCs. It uses an open API standard for integration with third-party applications and supports both inbound and outbound webhooks for synchronization with other channels.

FAQ

Can't receive notification?

The default official setting uses Firebase for notifications; if Google services cannot be reached by your server or device, you may not receive notifications as expected.

Is there a backdoor?

VoceChat has no backdoor and collects no user data—everything is hosted on your own server, even the license mechanism runs locally based on RSA.

Is VoceChat Free?

VoceChat has a free tier for community servers with no more than 20 members. You need to purchase a license if your server is larger than 20 members.
