pcjones/umlautadaptarrWhat is UmlautAdaptarr?
UmlautAdaptarr is a self-hosted proxy tool that works around Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, and Readarr's problems with foreign languages, particularly German umlauts. It acts as a fake indexer that intercepts search requests and results between the *arr applications and real indexers (via Prowlarr or NZB Hydra), then renames releases so the *arr apps can properly recognize and import them. Key capabilities include: correcting releases with German titles and umlauts, recognizing TVDB alias titles, fixing poorly named releases (optional), caching indexer requests for 12 minutes, supporting both Usenet (newznab) and torrent (torznab) indexers, and handling multiple *arr instances of the same type. It runs as a Docker container (ports 5005 for API, 5006 for proxy) or as a standalone .NET binary on seedboxes. Configuration is done via environment variables for each *arr instance. Radarr support and a web interface are still in development.
