tsaridas/stremio-dockerWhat is stremio-docker?
stremio-docker packages the Stremio media streaming server, its web player, and a custom ffmpeg build with VAAPI hardware acceleration into a single Alpine-based Docker image. It simplifies self-hosting by running both the web UI and streaming server on port 8080 behind nginx, with automatic HTTPS certificate generation via *.stremio.rocks subdomains or custom domains. The image supports Intel/AMD GPU transcoding on Linux hosts, CPU-only transcoding on Windows/macOS, and HTTP Basic Auth for security. Configuration is done via environment variables for server URL, certificates, authentication, and casting. No external database or cache is required — all state persists in a mounted volume.
Should you self-host stremio-docker?
