What is screenlite?

An open-source digital signage platform with a CMS for managing content, schedules, and devices across multiple displays, plus a separate browser-based player. The backend runs on Fastify with TypeScript, Prisma ORM, PostgreSQL, Redis, and S3-compatible object storage; the frontend uses React with TanStack Query and Tailwind CSS. Authentication uses opaque bearer tokens with optional TOTP two-factor authentication, and users can view and revoke active sessions. Video transcoding runs in an isolated FFmpeg container separate from the main server. Deployment uses Docker Compose with services for the API (port 3000), web UI (port 3001), PostgreSQL, Redis, MinIO, and FFmpeg. The project is in public alpha development, incomplete, and unsuitable for production deployment. Database migrations may require resets. Licensed under MIT.
