What is Plant-it?
Plant-it is an Android mobile app, written in Flutter under GPL-3.0, that acts as a personal plant-care journal: you keep your own record of who waters what, and when. You build a collection from an existing species catalogue or from entries you create yourself, log treatments such as watering, fertilizing and biostimulating, browse those entries filtered by plant or by event type, attach photos to each plant, and set reminders that alert you when an action falls overdue (say, after four days without watering). By design it never tells you what to do next — the author's view is that only you know when a plant needs water or fertilizer, so the software just remembers what you already did. Since the 1.0.0 release the project is purely a client: the old Spring Boot backend and its Docker Compose deployment were dropped, so nothing runs on a server and the iOS and web builds were discontinued (staying on 0.10.0 is advised for those users). Install the APK from GitHub releases, F-Droid or Obtanium; the architectural change meant data had to be entered again after upgrading. Development has slowed now that the project is considered stable: bug fixes and pull requests are welcome, new feature requests are weighed reluctantly.
