What is netxms?
NetXMS is an open-source platform for monitoring networks and IT infrastructure, built for enterprise use. It automatically discovers Layer 2 and Layer 3 topology through protocols like ARP, STP, LLDP, and CDP, and includes over 45 vendor-specific device drivers. The system uses a distributed design with a central server, lightweight agents for servers and applications, and both web and desktop consoles. It handles performance metrics, event correlation, alerting with multiple notification channels, and automation via its own NXSL scripting language. Integration options include REST and Java APIs, plus built-in exporters for InfluxDB and ClickHouse. Authentication supports internal accounts, LDAP, RADIUS, and two-factor methods. Deployment options cover Docker Compose, Debian/Ubuntu packages, native installers for Windows and Unix, and source builds. A PostgreSQL database is required. The project is maintained by Raden Solutions, which also sells professional support.
