What is mininote?

MiniNote is a Markdown note-taking application you run on your own server. It encrypts each note's title and body in the browser using AES-GCM via the Web Crypto API, with every notebook protected by a password that derives the encryption key. The backend uses Express and stores data in LokiJS, an in-memory JavaScript database. You can deploy it with Docker (ghcr.io/muety/mininote) or by building from source with Node.js 22.12 LTS or newer. The server listens on port 3000 and requires TLS for any host other than localhost. The code is MIT-licensed.
