ghcr.io/kolapsis/maintenantWhat is maintenant?
maintenant monitors Docker, Docker Swarm, and Kubernetes infrastructure from a single Go binary or container. It auto-discovers containers, health checks, restart loops, and live logs without configuration. It watches HTTP/TCP endpoints declared as Docker labels, TLS certificate expiry, cron job heartbeats, host CPU/memory/network/disk metrics, image updates with CVE enrichment, and network security exposure. Alerts route to multiple channels with escalation policies. A built-in MCP server lets AI agents investigate alerts read-only. The Community edition is free forever for one host; Personal (€149 once) adds multi-host agents, CVEs, and email/Telegram alerts; Pro (€29/mo) adds unlimited hosts, Slack/Teams, escalation, and maintenance windows. Install via Docker Compose, Kubernetes manifests, a static binary for bare Linux, or cloud-init for major cloud providers. Core is Apache-2.0 licensed; commercial features use a separate source-available license.
Should you self-host maintenant?
maintenant scores 54/100 on selfhost.directory (how scoring works) and ranks #6 of 19 in Infrastructure Monitoring. It has 531 GitHub stars.
It shipped 22 stable releases in the past year. The latest, v1.11.0, came out on 25 October 2026. New versions land roughly every 4 days.
Setup is easy: most people get it running in one sitting. An official Docker image is available. It is Apache-2.0-licensed and written mostly in Go.
Its closest alternative on selfhost.directory is netdata (87/100, 81 200 stars). It scores higher overall, so compare the two before you pick. See maintenant vs netdata side by side.
