What is assets?

Assets is a self-hosted personal wealth tracker for managing investment portfolios across multiple brokers and account types such as ISA, 401k, IRA, taxable, pension, and crypto. It delivers real-time market data through Yahoo Finance, supports multiple currencies with automatic foreign exchange conversion, and calculates returns including realized gains and currency impact. Transaction-level details show profit and loss per trade with cost basis tracking. Users can bulk import transaction history from broker exports via CSV. The app runs multiple users on one instance with JWT authentication and admin controls. It deploys as a Docker container using SQLite for storage, exposing a REST API and a React web dashboard that works on desktop and mobile. A separate Flutter mobile client exists in a companion repository. The license permits free non-commercial use while reserving commercial rights to the author.
