What is AIHOT?
AIHOT is the open-source engine behind the AIHOT AI-news site: a full website plus admin backend that pulls material from six source types (RSS, web lists, JSON endpoints, X accounts, WeChat public accounts and items pushed by your own scripts), has a language model prefilter and double-score every item, writes Chinese headlines, summaries and translations, clusters reports of the same story into events and ranks them by heat. It publishes a daily briefing by default at 08:00, with weekly and monthly editions assembled from the dailies. The repo ships every prompt and selection threshold in plain files (industry/prompts/, industry/selection.ts), so you retune the curation rules for your own field without touching code, and calibrate against your own labeled sample with the built-in evaluation tooling and admin SelectBench. You run it with Docker Compose on a server with PostgreSQL 17, any OpenAI-compatible model API key, and optional paid collection services for X and WeChat sources; a Caddy profile adds HTTPS, and backups can go to any S3-compatible store. Note the limits the author states: the interface and generated content are Chinese by default, the code was exported from the live site rather than polished as a general framework, AI-industry extras (model leaderboard, Codex reset monitor) and the real source lists are not included, and you must not use the AIHOT name or logo on your own instance.
Should you self-host AIHOT?
