What is wiki-server?
wiki-server is the Node.js backend for the Smallest Federated Wiki project, originally created by Ward Cunningham. It provides a federated wiki server that reads page content from multiple sources and writes updates to selected ones, enabling collaborative writing across distributed wiki instances. The server supports a plugin architecture with dozens of plugins for features like markdown, code blocks, charts, maps, and more. Data is stored in flat files by default (in ~/.wiki) with optional LevelDB support. Configuration can be done via command-line flags, a config.json file, or environment variables prefixed with wiki_. The server runs on port 3000 by default and requires Node.js 20+. It is published as the wiki-server npm package and used by the wiki package which provides the CLI.
