What is flight-finder?

Flight Finder is a self-hosted travel price tracking application for monitoring flights, hotels, and car rentals on your own hardware. You run it via Docker, a desktop launcher (macOS, Windows, Linux), or from source. It uses headless Chromium via Playwright to scrape Google Flights, Google Hotels, Booking.com, DiscoverCars, and Auto Europe, then uses an LLM (Claude Code, Codex, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Ollama, llama.cpp, or vLLM) to extract structured price data. Price history is stored in PostgreSQL with interactive Plotly.js charts and shareable URLs. Features include natural-language search, flexible date comparison, VPN-based price comparison from different countries via ExpressVPN sidecar, Pushover notifications, multi-user profiles with passkeys/WebAuthn, a PWA for mobile access, and a REST API for agent/CLI integration. The built-in cron scrapes every 3 hours by default. All data stays on your machine; optional community data sharing contributes anonymized price points to a public dataset.

Should you self-host flight-finder?

It shipped 17 stable releases in the past year. The latest, v0.16.0, came out on 15 October 2026. New versions land roughly every 3 days.
