What is d9?

This project is a community-maintained fork of Directus 9 that keeps the codebase fully open-source under GPLv3 after the upstream moved to a premium model. It delivers a headless CMS and data platform that automatically generates REST and GraphQL endpoints for any SQL database — PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, MariaDB, CockroachDB, OracleDB, or MS-SQL. A Vue.js-based Data Studio gives non-technical users a no-code interface for content, users, files, roles, permissions, webhooks, and visual flow automation. The software runs on your own infrastructure via Docker, Docker Compose, or npm, configured entirely through environment variables. Authentication options include built-in email/password, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, LDAP, and SAML. File storage works with local disk, S3, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob, and Cloudinary. Directus 9 extensions are compatible out of the box, and a CLI handles database migrations, schema snapshots, and user management. The project has no paid tiers or vendor lock-in.
