ghcr.io/ajslater/codexWhat is Codex?
Codex is a self-hosted web application for browsing and reading comic archives. It supports multiple formats and automatically imports new files added to your library folders. The interface lets you explore comics by publisher, series, volume, folder structure, or story arcs, with full-text search and flexible filtering. You can edit metadata tags directly in the browser, which writes changes back to the original files, and fetch metadata from online databases with interactive matching. The reader works on any screen size with configurable layouts and reading directions, and remembers your position and preferences per user. Access can be open or require accounts, with private libraries limited to specific groups and optional age gates. For authentication, it offers built-in accounts, OIDC integration with providers like Authentik and Authelia, and reverse-proxy header authentication. It also speaks OPDS 1 and 2 for e-reader apps, logs failed logins for fail2ban, and runs on modest hardware. Licensed under GPLv3, it installs via Docker, Docker Compose, Home Assistant, or a native Python package.
