ghcr.io/emoss08/trenova/tmsWhat is Trenova?
A transportation management platform for US asset-based trucking carriers that handles the complete order-to-cash workflow. It covers shipment creation, dispatch operations, driver allocation, rate calculation, invoice generation, payment settlement, general ledger accounting, and regulatory compliance. The software is distributed under the Functional Source License (FSL-1.1-ALv2), which permits self-hosting and code modification but prohibits offering it as a hosted service. Every release automatically transitions to Apache 2.0 after a two-year period. The system runs on a Linux host using Docker Compose with a stack comprising Go, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, React, Meilisearch, Redis, Temporal, and S3-compatible object storage. Notable features include AI-driven dispatch optimization, automated extraction of data from shipping documents and delivery receipts, EDI transaction processing, integration with Samsara telematics, PC*MILER mileage calculations, AS2 protocol support, OpenID Connect authentication, and a dedicated mobile application for drivers. Currently in pre-release (version 0.x) and not recommended for production use. The self-hosted edition provides all capability packs without charge, while a managed cloud offering uses tiered pricing with usage quotas.

FAQ
What does Enterprise include?
Every pack, a dedicated instance and database, regional data residency, customer-managed keys, unlimited users, migration support and a contracted SLA.
Do you offer annual billing?
Yes. Annual billing includes two months free on plans and packs.
Is self-hosting really free?
Yes, with every pack. Trenova is source-available under FSL-1.1 and converts to Apache 2.0 after two years. No license key, no phone-home.
Is anything metered?
Agent runs beyond your plan's allowance, Document Intelligence pages beyond 1,000 a month, and Visibility messages beyond 500 a month. Everything else is flat.
What if I exceed my limits?
Nothing breaks or locks. We'll let you know and recommend the right plan or add-on.
Can I change packs later?
Yes, monthly, with no minimum term. Data a pack created stays on your records if you remove it.
Which packs can I add?
All of them, on Growth and above. There is no per-pack plan gating.
How do bundles and pack credits work?
Bundles price common pack combinations about 30% below list. Professional includes 1 pack at no charge and Scale includes 3. Enterprise includes every pack.
Why no per-seat pricing?
Hiring a dispatcher shouldn't raise your software bill. Each plan includes a set number of users, from 1 on Free to unlimited on Enterprise.
What's the difference between a plan and a pack?
The plan is the core TMS: shipments, dispatch, billing, documents, audit trail and every seat. Packs add specialist workflows like rating, the general ledger, EDI or driver pay.
