tigase/tigase-xmpp-serverWhat is Tigase XMPP Server?
Tigase XMPP Server is a mature, highly optimized messaging server written in Java that has been in development since 2004. It implements full XMPP Core (RFC 6120), XMPP IM (RFC 6121), and XMPP over WebSockets (RFC 7395), supporting client connections over TCP, BOSH, and WebSockets, as well as server-to-server and component connections. The server is extremely modular with a plugin architecture supporting over 30 XEPs including Multi-User Chat (XEP-0045), PubSub (XEP-0060), Message Archive Management (XEP-0313), HTTP File Upload (XEP-0363), and Push Notifications (XEP-0357). It provides an HTTP API for integration with external services, supports clustering for high availability, and offers LDAP authentication. The server runs on JDK 17+ (version 8.3+) or JDK 11+ (version 8.2) and can use various databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Derby, and MongoDB via connectors. It is distributed as Docker images, binary packages (ZIP/TAR.GZ), and Maven artifacts. An enterprise edition with additional features is also available.
