What is PocketRisu?

A fork of RisuAI, this program lets you run an AI roleplay chat service on your own hardware — computer, server, or Android phone — and use it from any device's web browser. It talks to many LLM backends including OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, DeepInfra, OpenRouter, and local models via Ollama. Every character, conversation, setting, and media file lives in one SQLite database on your machine, with no cloud service involved. Generation continues on the server even if you close the tab or lose connectivity; the completed reply appears when you return. A dashboard reports disk usage by character and module, reclaimable snapshot space, and offers SQLite maintenance. Lorebooks and long-term memory (HypaMemoryV3) preserve context across lengthy sessions. Automatic translation bridges language gaps. Regex scripts and plugins customize behavior, while TTS provides voice output. Remote access comes via a built-in Cloudflare Quick Tunnel (QR code) or a persistent Tailscale VPN. The UI speaks Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, and additional languages. You can deploy with ready-made portable packages (Windows, macOS, Linux), a Docker image from ghcr.io, an automated install script, manual git clone, or a Termux build on Android. The codebase is GPL-3.0 licensed; optional Patreon supporters receive only a name credit in the app.
