What is Oblecto?

Oblecto serves personal movie and TV show collections from a home server. It scans folders, identifies content with guessit, and enriches metadata using TMDb, TVDB, and fanart.tv. The web interface offers browsing, search, continue-watching, and a player with audio/subtitle selection, speed control, chapters, seek thumbnails, and intro/credit skip. A compatible API on port 8096 lets Jellyfin clients on phones, TVs, and desktops connect. User accounts support groups, permissions, preferences, and viewing statistics. Optional federation enables trusted servers to share libraries and stream remotely. The stack requires Node.js 24+, FFmpeg, and guessit, with SQLite or MariaDB/MySQL for data. Install via global npm package, Docker image, or systemd service. Licensed AGPL-3.0-or-later; latest release is a beta.
