What is iTop?

iTop (IT Operations Portal) is a full open-source IT service management platform built for teams that want to run their own ITSM tool. It ships a configurable CMDB, a helpdesk with incident handling, service and contract tracking, change workflows, SLA controls, visual impact analysis, bulk CSV import, data quality audits, and a synchronization engine for federating external data sources. The system follows ITIL practices and can be extended through a REST API, webhooks, and ready-made collectors for OCS Inventory, VMware, Azure, and Ansible. Users can log in with local accounts, LDAP/Active Directory, or SSO via SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, or CAS, plus multi-factor options such as TOTP and hardware keys. The stack requires PHP 8.2–8.4, MariaDB 10.6–11.8 (or MySQL 5.7+), a web server (Apache, NGINX, or IIS), and GraphViz. Setup guides cover Ubuntu with apt, manual deployment from SourceForge or GitHub releases, and the code is licensed AGPL-3.0. Combodo, the sponsor, also sells Professional and Essential editions with extra capabilities.
