What is fusiondirectory?
FusionDirectory is a web-based Identity Management (IAM) platform that simplifies administration of data held in LDAP directories. It targets enterprises, higher education, and public-sector organizations needing centralized control over accounts, groups, mail, sudo, SSH, systems, services, DHCP, and DNS. Core capabilities include fine-grained role-based access control that does not interfere with other LDAP consumers, an event-driven trigger engine for automating provisioning tasks in external systems, a plugin framework for custom schema management, a RESTful web service, and a workflow orchestrator. Delegation lets non-specialists handle subsets of data safely, while templates enforce consistent object creation. Deployment uses official Debian and Ubuntu package repositories followed by a browser-based setup wizard that configures the LDAP connection and creates the first administrator. Runtime requirements are a web server (Apache or Nginx), PHP 7.4 with many extensions, and an LDAP server such as OpenLDAP or 389 Directory Server. Paid subscriptions unlock an enterprise repository with tested updates and professional support.
