What is DCRDEX?
DCRDEX (Decred Decentralized Exchange) is a non-custodial, trustless exchange platform for cross-chain cryptocurrency trading using atomic swap technology. It matches traders through an order-book system with market and limit orders, while settlement occurs on-chain without intermediaries. The project includes the dcrdex server for hosting markets and the Bison Wallet client (desktop, CLI, and Docker) for trading. Key capabilities include zero trading fees (only network fees), epoch-based order matching to prevent manipulation, multi-asset support (BTC, DCR, LTC, ETH, POL, stablecoins, and more), built-in market-making bots, Decred staking, and SPV-based lightweight wallets. Users can self-host the server on Linux/macOS with PostgreSQL and full nodes, or run the client via native installers, Homebrew, AUR, Docker, or binary downloads. The protocol is fully open-source under the ISC/Blue Oak license.
