ghcr.io/windshiftapp/windshiftWhat is Windshift?
Windshift gives teams a self-hosted alternative to Jira that runs on their own servers. The platform handles project hierarchies with epics, stories, and sub-tasks, plus sprint planning on boards and backlogs. Roadmaps and dashboards provide visibility across work. Each workspace configures its own workflows, custom fields, screen layouts, permission schemes, and automation rules. A JQL-inspired query language enables advanced filtering and saved views. Beyond core tracking, the system bundles a customer-facing service desk with SLAs and a request portal, a knowledge base for documentation, test case management with execution runs, time logging that separates billable from internal hours, and an asset registry with schemas and relationships. A native importer brings over projects, issues, comments, attachments, work logs, boards, sprints, custom fields, and asset data from Jira Cloud or Data Center. Technically, Windshift packages a Go backend and Svelte frontend into one binary, defaulting to embedded SQLite with optional PostgreSQL. Deployment choices span a multi-arch Docker image, standalone binaries for major desktop and server operating systems, and a macOS desktop app. Sign-in options include local accounts, WebAuthn passkeys, OIDC with major identity providers, and SAML/LDAP in the paid tier. Development integrations link GitHub, GitLab, Gitea, and Forgejo for traceability, while a REST API, webhooks, and a WebAssembly plugin runtime enable extensibility. The latest version is v0.9.1 (beta), released under AGPL-3.0.
