ghcr.io/bubbuild/bubWhat is Bub?
Bub is a Python-based agent runtime that lets developers build custom AI agents or use the included Bub application. It uses a pluggy-based plugin system where every turn stage is a hook that can be overridden. Context is managed through an append-only tape model rather than session state, making history auditable and forkable. The same pipeline drives CLI, Telegram, and custom channels. Bub can be installed via a shell script, uv tool, or Docker, and requires Python 3.12+. It integrates with MCP servers, local llama.cpp models, and various LLM providers through the Republic library. The project is in alpha (0.6.0a3) with Apache-2.0 license.
