ghcr.io/useagenthq/backendWhat is UseAgent?
UseAgent is a self-hosted platform for running AI coding agents in isolated Linux workspaces. It provides a web UI, Slack integration, and REST API to hand off tasks, then streams the agent's work live with terminal, browser, and file views. Every run is stored as an append-only event log in PostgreSQL, so sessions survive restarts and can be replayed. The control plane runs on any Linux host (Ubuntu 24.04) with Docker, bun, Node, and Postgres 16+ with pgvector. Sandboxes are pluggable: Daytona (managed) or CubeSandbox (self-hosted). Authentication uses email/password with optional Google OAuth; production deployments disable self-signup and require admin provisioning. The project is licensed AGPL-3.0 with a commercial license option. It is currently in alpha with APIs subject to change.
Should you self-host UseAgent?
