What is Jauth?

This lightweight reverse proxy secures self-hosted apps with automatic HTTPS via Let's Encrypt or self-signed certificates. Users log in through SSH keys or a Telegram widget, with optional single sign-on across multiple domains. Each domain can have its own access whitelist and target backend. The authenticated username is forwarded via the Remote-User header. It runs as a single dependency-free binary configured through a TOML file.

Should you self-host Jauth?

There was no stable release in the past 12 months, so check the repository's recent activity before you rely on it.

Setup is moderate: expect some configuration beyond a single command. It is GPL-3.0-licensed and written mostly in Go.
