What is freehire?
freehire is an open-source job search engine for tech roles that aggregates postings from company career pages without recruiters or reposts. It indexes over 4 million unique jobs from 600,000+ companies across 380+ sources including 136 ATS platforms like Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, and Workday. Every posting is normalized into a single schema and deduplicated on a stable key. The self-hosted stack runs via Docker Compose with a Go API, SvelteKit frontend, PostgreSQL with pgvector, Meilisearch, Redis, and S3-compatible storage. Features include faceted full-text search by region, work mode, seniority, skills and salary; structured CV builder with ATS-safe PDF templates; deterministic CV-to-vacancy match scoring with optional LLM fit analysis; CV tailoring that rewrites against requirements without inventing content; application tracking board with stages; mail inbox that links recruiter replies to applications; in-process AI assistant with presets for chat, browsing, profile building, CV tailoring, and interview rehearsal; keyless public HTTP API; CLI; browser extension; and Telegram/email digests. LLM-backed features require an OpenAI-compatible endpoint. The project is MIT-licensed and actively developed.

FAQ
How do I get notified about new jobs?
Save a search with your stack, seniority, region and salary, then subscribe to it. When a matching job is added, freehire sends a digest via Telegram.
Can I use freehire from the command line or with AI agents?
Yes, freehire offers a CLI and an HTTP API so scripts or AI agents can search, open and track jobs over the same interface without a browser.
How is freehire different from other job boards?
Unlike traditional job boards, freehire sources jobs directly from company career pages instead of paid listings, with no sponsored posts, no paywalls, and open source so anyone can add new sources.
Where do the job listings come from?
Listings come directly from companies' public applicant tracking systems (ATS) such as Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Teamtailor and SuccessFactors, normalized to one schema and deduplicated.
Is freehire free to use?
Yes, freehire is completely free and open source under the MIT license with no paywalls, no sponsored listings, and no résumé harvesting.
What is freehire?
