## Description

WhoRang turns a doorbell camera into a smart visitor identification system. It accepts webhook events from Home Assistant or other sources, analyzes visitor images using one of five AI providers (OpenAI Vision, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, Google Cloud Vision, or local Ollama), and performs face recognition to track repeat visitors. The mobile-first dashboard delivers real-time updates via WebSockets. The stack runs via Docker Compose with a React/TypeScript frontend on port 8080 and a Node.js/Express backend on port 3001, using SQLite for storage. Features include comprehensive analytics with CSV/PDF export, AI cost tracking across providers, weather correlation, and a privacy-first design that works fully offline with local AI. The project is MIT licensed and actively maintained.
