## Description

Globalping Probe is the software that runs on community-hosted hardware to power the Globalping platform's globally distributed probe network. Users run the probe as a Docker or Podman container on any Linux server, home server, or Raspberry Pi (x86 or ARM). The probe connects outbound to the Globalping API over a secure connection and executes network measurement commands like ping, traceroute, DNS resolution, MTR, and HTTP requests from its location. No incoming ports are opened. Probes can be adopted via a token to earn daily credits for higher rate limits on the Globalping platform. The probe auto-updates its code from GitHub. Hardware probes are also available for GitHub Sponsors. The project is open source under the ISC license.
