## Description

ChatbotX is a chat-marketing platform for teams that run conversational funnels on messaging apps, and its authors position it as a self-hostable replacement for ManyChat, Chatfuel, Wati and Respond. Channels covered include WhatsApp, Meta's Messenger and Instagram, Threads, TikTok, Telegram, Zalo in Vietnam, plain email, an API channel and an embeddable webchat. Inside the app you design bots with a drag-and-drop flow editor offering more than fifteen node kinds, plug in AI agents backed by hosted model providers or your own local models, answer people in a realtime shared inbox with human takeover, keep contacts in a CRM with tags and segments, and push broadcasts, drip sequences, comment-to-DM rules and A/B-tested flows. Extra tools cover growth links, performance analytics, a public REST API, a CLI and an MCP server so third-party agents can operate the platform. Operationally it is three services — a Next.js builder, a BullMQ worker and a WebSocket realtime gateway — over PostgreSQL with pgvector, Redis and S3-compatible object storage, with a hardened JavaScript executor sandboxing user-authored flow steps. The recommended install is the companion chatbotx-docker-compose repository, which pulls published ghcr.io images and starts them with a single compose command; the docs ask for Docker 24+, Compose v2.20+ and a 4 GB / 4 vCPU machine, while the compose repo notes a smaller Ubuntu baseline it tested. Most code is MIT-licensed Community Edition, limited to one workspace, and features such as multiple workspaces, role-based permissions, audit logging, custom branding and SSO sit behind a paid Enterprise license key; a hosted ChatbotX Cloud with a lifetime-deal offer runs alongside it.
